Oxbridge Sino-foreign Cooperative Education Programs in China
1. Postgraduate Programs, Optional Models: 1+1, 0.5+0.5, 2+0.
2. One-year Pre-master Programs for Chinese students with 3-year college diploma or Undergraduate
¡¡diploma (Non degree students).
3. Undergraduate Programs, Optional Models: 2+1+1, 3+1, 1+2+1, 2+2.
4. Diploma Programs such as HND and TAFE Programs.
5. One-year Undergraduate Foundation Programs for Chinese high school graduates or equivalents.
6. Students Exchange Programs.
7. Foreign Investment on China Campus Operation. |
The Procedure for developing this cooperation is normally divided into the following three stages:
First Stage:
1. With the assistance of OIEG, the two parties
exchange information and communicate broad
ideas related to the kind of collaboration envisaged.
2. Both institutions sign an agreement in principle.
3. With the assistance of OIEG, the two parties
negotiate the detailed teaching plan and syllabus
on the collaborative program.
4. Both Institutions sign a formal collaborative
agreement following further detailed discussion.

Second Stage:
1. The Chinese institution applies for approval for
the collaborative program form the provincial
and national Ministries of Education.
2. With the assistance of OIEG, the Chinese
institution starts recruitment.
3. Under the monitoring of OIEG, the Chinese
institution implements the teaching program
outlined in the agreement.
Third Stage:
1. With the assistance of OIEG, students
participating in the project apply for visas
after completing their study in China.
2. Students arrive at the foreign institution and
follow the curriculum from then on.

Oxbridge Short-term Overseas Training Programs
OIEG has run the Short-Term Overseas Training Programs since 2003. In the past years, more than 2,000 participants have benefited from our programs, improved their professional skills and enjoyed foreign culture. The duration of the programs varies from 2 weeks to 7 weeks. The opening period is from July to August and from January to February. |

Outline of Teacher Training course from the year 2003 on
The aim of the course is to enhance the language skills of English teachers from China and to provide training which will enable them to act more effectively as teachers of English. To this end the course will focus on the following issues: language improvement in all areas, teaching methodology, local society and culture.20% of the course will be language improvement, 60% teaching methodology and 20% local culture and society.

Communicative methodology and language learning theory, teaching vocabulary, using warm-ups and fillers, use of role play, use of video, lesson planning and syllabus design, typical Chinese errors, drama in teaching, use of textbooks and other resources, teaching pronunciation, using games, computer technology and the internet, teaching mixed ability classes, teaching large groups, advanced language teaching methodology, classroom management and course design.
Local Culture and Society
Local background including TV, film and media,

youth culture, leisure activities and food and drink, local society, local education system, cultural differences, preparation for the trips.
Program of lectures by distinguished academics on subjects related to the course
These lectures will cover local literature, linguistics, education and up-to-date research in the field of TEFL and Applied Linguistics.
Social Program
A full social and trips program will be provided for teachers on the course. Other social events will also be organized including a visit to a local family and their home. |
